What is Test Planning?
Test planning is the process by which testers plan and structure their tests. Test planning includes identifying goals and requirements for the testing, as well as creating a plan for how the tests are to be carried out. Test planning is an important part of the testing process because well-executed planning can lead to better testing and higher quality of the end result. Compared to other competencies, test planning is a more technical and structured process. Other competencies that can be compared are test design and test management. Test design involves identifying and creating test cases, while test management involves coordinating and managing tests.
