What is Software Architecture?

Software architecture is the overall structure of a computer system, including how different components work together. A software architect monitors and plans how the system develops over time, so that it can be adapted to changes in the business and the needs of the users. Software architecture can be compared to other competencies required to develop and maintain a computer system, such as software engineering and system architecture. Software engineering focuses on how different parts of a program work together, while system architecture focuses on how different systems work together.
