What is Requirements Analysis?

Requirements analysis is a technique used to identify and analyze requirements for a system. Requirements can be functionality requirements, performance requirements, usability requirements, etc. A requirements analysis usually includes a combination of different techniques such as interviews, document analysis and workshops. In order to carry out a requirements analysis, it is usually required that one has good knowledge in the field and is well versed in various techniques and tools. It is also important that you have good communication skills because a large part of the work involves communicating with different stakeholders. A requirements analysis differs from a similar technique called requirements management. Requirements management usually includes only a part of the activities included in a requirements analysis.
