What is Networking?
Networking is the knowledge of how to connect different computers and other devices to each other. It is an important competence in IT, because many different systems and devices must communicate with each other to function. Networking can be used to connect computers to the internet, or to connect different computers and devices within a local area network. There are different types of networks, and different ways of connecting computers to the networks. The most common types of networks are local area networks (LANs) and wide area networks (WANs). LAN is a network that is limited to a physical area, such as a house or an office building. A WAN is a network that is connected to the Internet and can be accessed from different locations. There are different ways to connect computers to the networks. The most common ways are wireless connection and cable connection. Wireless connection uses a wireless router to send and receive data.
