What is Marketing Communications?

Marketing communications is the process through which companies and organizations communicate with their target groups. It is a broad term that covers everything from advertising and PR to digital and social media. Marketing communications can be used to reach out with a message to a certain target group, for example to inform about a new product or service. It can also be used to build a brand or to generate interest in an organization or business. There are different types of marketing communications, for example: -Advertising: Aims to influence people to buy a certain product or service. Advertising can be in print, on radio or TV, online or offline. -PR (public relations): Aims to create a good reputation for a company or an organization. Public relations activities may include writing press releases, arranging press conferences or participating in interviews. -Digital marketing: Aims to reach out with a message via digital channels, for example social media, e-mail or websites. -Social media: Aims to reach out with a message via social media, for example Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.
