What is LAN-WAN?

LAN-WAN is a network technology used to connect devices over a local area network (LAN) to a wide area (WAN). A LAN is usually a collection of devices connected within a nearby geographical location, while a WAN is a network that spans a larger geographical location. Through the use of LAN-WAN technology, devices such as computers, printers and servers can communicate and share resources over different networks. LAN enables fast and efficient communication within a specific location, while WAN allows communication over greater distances and between different locations. There are various methods and protocols used to connect LANs and WANs, including VPN (Virtual Private Network) and MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching). These technologies enable devices to securely and efficiently communicate across different networks and locations. Although LAN and WAN have different characteristics and uses, they are both important in enabling efficient and reliable network communication. By combining LAN and WAN, organizations can create robust and scalable networks that can meet the needs of today's digital world.
