What is SIP?
SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) is a protocol for establishing, modifying and terminating multimedia sessions such as telephony, video conferencing and real-time media streaming. SIP is used to communicate between different devices on a network, and is often compared to HTTP or SMTP.
