What is Quality by Design?

Quality by Design is a method used in product development to ensure high quality right from the start. By integrating quality into the design process, companies can minimize risks and maximize efficiency in production. The method focuses on identifying and understanding the customer's needs and requirements already in the design phase. By involving all relevant actors early in the process, products can be developed with high quality and good functionality. Quality by Design also means continuously evaluating and improving products and processes to ensure a high standard. There are many different methods and tools that can be used within Quality by Design, such as Risk Management, Process Analytical Technology (PAT) and Design of Experiments ( DOE). By using these tools, companies can optimize their product development and ensure that the products meet the customer's requirements and expectations. Quality by Design is an important part in, among other things, the pharmaceutical industry and the food industry, where it is crucial that the products are of high quality and safe for consumers. By using Quality by Design, companies can minimize the risk of errors and faulty products, while increasing their competitiveness in the market.
