What is Property Management?
Property Management is a professional service that involves managing and looking after properties for their owners. It includes managing tenants, maintenance of the property, budgeting and accounting. As a property manager, it is important to have knowledge of rental legislation, marketing and finance in order to do a good job. A property manager is responsible for ensuring that the property is in good condition and that the tenants are satisfied. There are many different programs and tools that can facilitate the work within Property Management. Examples of these are Yardi, AppFolio and Buildium. These programs help property managers manage tenants, create budgets and keep track of property maintenance needs.
