What is HPLC?
HPLC (High Performance Liquid Chromatography) is a technique used in chemical analysis to separate and identify different substances in a mixture. By using different types of columns and solvents, HPLC can separate and quantify components in a sample mixture. HPLC is an important method in many different fields, including drug development, the food industry and environmental analysis. Using HPLC, researchers and analysts can analyze complex mixtures and obtain information about which substances are present in the sample and in what amounts. There are several different types of HPLC instruments used to perform analyses, including liquid chromatographic systems and gas-liquid chromatography. As with all techniques in chemical analysis, it is important to have knowledge and experience to be able to interpret and analyze the results from the HPLC analyses.
