What is AAC?

AAC stands for Augmentative and Alternative Communication and is a method used to facilitate communication for people with communication difficulties. Through the use of various aids and techniques, such as images, symbols, and electronic devices, people who have difficulty speaking can use AAC to communicate with others. Just like Adobe Photoshop, there are also other similar programs and tools that offer similar features to AAC . Examples of alternative communication methods are PECS (Picture Exchange Communication System), Blissymbolics and signs as support (TAKK). AAC can be used both temporarily and long-term depending on the individual's needs and ability to communicate. By adapting the communication tools to each individual, communication can be facilitated and thereby improve the quality of life for people with communication difficulties.
