We recently launched the Gibson app for Gibson Brands and we have more products in the making. Our results so far are mind-boggling, and we’re expanding the team to take our products to the next level. 

What you will do
Your primary focus will be on the development of our backend. You will work in close liaison with frontend, being responsible for integrating elements built by your co-workers into the application. Therefore, a basic understanding of frontend technologies is necessary as well.

- Take responsibility for the backend of the Gibson app including building new features
- Maintain and develop of all server-side logic, definition and maintenance of the central database
- Responsible for managing back-end services and the interchange of data between the server and the users
- Ensure high performance and responsiveness to requests from the frontend
- Optimize current and new features
- Actively participate in the project planning, sprint planning, daily scrum and sprint review
- Develop, implement and maintain unit tests
- Drive projects to completion by collaborating with peers to overcome blockers
- Provide thought leadership on mobile development excellence and best practices

Who you are
- Excellent knowledge of Python web frameworks and design patterns
- Excellent knowledge of MySQL
- Knowledge of Audio/Video streaming service
- Basic understanding of Javascript, HTML and CSS
- Experience with building testable, high quality distributed web services
- Detail-oriented design, debugging and problem solving skills
- Experience with highly available systems
- Experience in Azure cloud environment
- Proficient understanding of code versioning tools, such as Git, Gitlab, CircleCI
- Excellent understanding of session management in a distributed server environment
- Knowledge of NoSQL, micro services and big data is considered a plus
- Also great if you can play the guitar, but not a requirement
